Is this the right time for me?
Can I learn this without a finance background?

During Learning

What's my actual risk tolerance?
Should I focus on growth or dividends?
How often should I review things?

What Makes This Approach Different

We skip the jargon and focus on decisions you'll actually face when managing your own money.

Real Portfolio Examples

You'll see actual portfolios from people at different life stages – a 28-year-old teacher, a 45-year-old tradesman planning for kids' university, a 56-year-old couple thinking about retirement. Each one shows real asset mixes, reasoning behind choices, and how they adjust when circumstances change.

Decision Frameworks You Can Use

Instead of memorizing formulas, you'll get mental models for evaluating options. Things like: How do I weigh risk versus potential return? When does it make sense to diversify more? What warning signs mean I should reconsider my approach? These frameworks stick with you because they're based on how people actually think about money decisions.

Small Group Discussions

Groups of six work through scenarios together. One person's question often sparks insights for others. You're not just absorbing information – you're thinking out loud with people at similar stages, testing ideas, and getting comfortable with the vocabulary before you need it in real situations.

Why September 2025 Works Well

Starting in early spring gives you time to learn fundamentals before the financial year wraps up. By December, you'll have a clearer picture of your tax position and can make decisions with that context in mind.

The program runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7pm to 8:30pm. That's fourteen sessions total. Most people find the pace manageable – enough to absorb concepts without feeling rushed, but condensed enough that you stay engaged.

Between sessions, expect about two hours of reading or practice exercises. Nothing complicated – usually reviewing a case study or working through a sample asset allocation based on a given scenario.
